To be clear from the start - Any person who tells you that God commands everyone to give ten percent of their income to their church, is simply lying!  

 

This statement may offend some people, but I do not apologise for this statement in any way.  It is true!  This is not a matter of opinion or of denominational doctrine - it is a matter of Scripture and, therefore, a matter of truth!

 

My intention is to highlight the basics about ‘the tithe’.  With many ‘churches’ demanding that their congregations give a tenth of their income (usually a tenth of their gross), it is important to establish what scripture actually says about the practice.
